I LOVED Missions of the Reliant! I played it when I was like 12 years old on some compilation CD of 100 or so kick ass mac games. I probably owe you some money too :). Great job on the old game and props to Gwynne for reviving it. I'll be one of the first to donate this time around.

Wow, only about 300 people registered? That makes me feel kinda special, since I was one of those people. This was in fact one of the very few pieces of shareware that I did register back in the day. I'm glad to hear that a new port of it is being developed; I just happened to think of this game this morning and missed it, which led me to find this thread. I hope the new version is ready soon!

I might not own a Mac, but I just love reading this aeon-spanning story. I'll be following it too! Oh, and always wanted to read a story behind a shareware game that wasn't Doom.

I would be willing to look into Windows and Linux ports once the OS X port is done, but one thing at a time.

The game looks nowadays wonderful! It seems it could stand a port and transform in a popular flash game, or Iphone app :)

I would like better if the new remake, could be portable to windows and linux. However it is a good idea to me.

Regards,

I remember playing Missions of the Reliant! I probably didn't register since I was just a kid, so I guess I owe you some dinero!

I also played that Star Trek game obsessively at my neighbour's place. It's probably the first computer game I ever played. I remember the system too: a DECwriter II - really wide paper - with an acoustic modem dialed into the university mainframe. Man the amount of paper we went through on that thing!

I think I wrote my first program on it too:

10 PRINT "This is cool"
20 GOTO 10

Good times!
