If you use all your time up and your opponent has time left...you lose.  &lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;Speed chess is the same rationale.  You have a limit, just less total time.  Say 5 minutes.  Gives very little time per move.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;But chess is probably not the best analogy here.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;cl</description>

It just appears that there is a limit on the aggregate time a player can spend on the process of taking his turns. But the game, in essence, still progresses discretely upon the completion of each turn.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;I know next to nothing about speed chess, though, so I could easily be wrong.</description>
